Young-Williams Animal Center is one of 38 animal rescue organizations nationwide that have received funding from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to participate in the Mega Match-a-thon adoption event Oct. 18-20.

On Oct. 16, Pilot presented checks totaling more than $75,000 to three area not-for-profit organizations.

The three-day event raised $86,200 for the United Way of Greater Knoxville. In just three days, “Pilot Celebrity Pumpers” raised a record-breaking $86,200 for the United Way of Greater Knoxville.

Knox County Fire Chief Jerry Harnish has been named interim division general manager for Rural/Metro of Tennessee.

With the shelter overrun with adoptable dogs, Young-Williams Animal Center is starting the Furry Fall Festival celebration early. From Friday-Sunday, Oct. 4-6, all dog adoption fees will be reduced.
