If you want to spend the holiday weekend snuggled on the couch with the perfect companion, Young-Williams Animal Center has the cat for you. Beginning today, Aug. 28, through Monday, Sept. 1, adoption fees for cats of all ages are reduced.

This weekend, Young-Williams Animal Center is celebrating ‘Lab-or’ Day with an adoption special on all Labradors and lab mixes.

This weekend, Young-Williams Animal Center is offering an adoption special to mark International Homeless Animal Day on Saturday, Aug. 16.

PetSafe, an industry brand leader in the development of innovative pet behavioral, containment and lifestyle product solutions and services, has donated $10,000 to Young-Williams Animal Center to subsidize spay and neuter surgeries for low income families. The funds will enable Young-Williams Animal Center to provide free spay and neuter surgeries for approximately 150 pets throughout the month of August.

Black dogs and cats spend approximately four times as long on adoption floors in animal shelters, according to studies across the country. Currently, at Young-Williams Animal Center, there are more than 100 animals available for the adoption. Of those animals, 25 are black.

Last July, Young-Williams Animal Center took in 718 cats and 391 of those were kittens. Though the numbers for January through June of this year have decreased, kittens are arriving in bunches this month.

A new recycling campaign will make it easy for pet lovers throughout the greater Knoxville area to assist shelter animals through responsible recycling, including those at Young-Williams Animal Center.

Young-Williams Animal Center is offering a special incentive to encourage dog adoptions and celebrate the official start of summer. From Friday, June 20, through Sunday, June 22, every puppy, adult and senior dog that is adopted will receive a free personalized name tag.

In June, Young-Williams Animal Center is celebrating National Adopt-a-Cat Month by encouraging supporters to adopt and sponsor the cats in the shelter.
