For community members looking for a furry good luck charm and forever friend, Young-Williams Animal Center invites potential pet owners to adopt at a reduced rate during the Luck O’ the Animals special.

When a Chihuahua was found abandoned in a shed with five other animals last month, her future was uncertain to say the least. She suffered from a heart murmur that endangered her life, but the Harry and Carolyn Galbraith Animal Compassion Fund at Young-Williams Animal Center sponsored a surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine that ultimately saved her.

Young-Williams Animal Center is celebrating World Spay Day with 24 hours of surgeries for female and male cats, an “Op Around the Clock” event on Tuesday, Feb. 25, with two convenient check-in times at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

When Henry the hound mix first came to Young-Williams Animal Center, he had been hit by a car in North Knoxville. A dislocated hip and broken pelvis left him unable to move his back legs. Henry was much closer to death than adoption.

Young-Williams Animal Center is offering low-cost spay and neuter solutions at $65 per dog and $45 per cat for all community pet owners in order to continue its mission to decrease pet overpopulation in the region.
