Wojciech Kopec of Searcy, Ark., won the ninth annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon on Sunday, April 7. In a field of about 7,500 participants in six races, Kopec finished the 26.2-mile men’s full marathon with a time of 2:22:15.

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center has been recognized by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as meeting The Joint Commission’s standards for Disease-Specific Care Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification. That means it is part of an elite group of providers focused on complex stroke care. Complex stroke centers are recognized as industry leaders and are responsible for setting the national agenda in highly specialized stroke care.
