The SUBWAY® Race Against Cancer is set for Sunday, Nov. 8, at World’s Fair Park. The East Tennessee area SUBWAY® franchise owners announced their partnership with Thompson Cancer Survival Center and Covenant Health in February as the new title sponsor of the annual Race Against Cancer.

Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon recently presented more than $15,000 in healthy living grants to the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum, The Muse Knoxville, Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville and Knoxville Recreational Therapy Program.

Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon is accepting proposals for its Community Contribution Program, which will award funds for healthy living initiatives in East Tennessee.

More than 7,750 runners participated in the race events at the 2015 Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon, which took place March 28-29 in Knoxville, Tennessee. In its 11th year, the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon is the largest competitive road race in East Tennessee.

Street and lane closures will occur throughout the center city and surrounding areas for the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon race events, which will be held March 28-29. All roads are expected to be open by 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29.

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon race weekend is set for Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, and the 11th annual event marks the impressive beginning of another decade for the largest competitive road race in East Tennessee.

Today, Thompson Cancer Survival Center and Covenant Health announced that SUBWAY restaurants of Knoxville will become the new title sponsor of the annual Race Against Cancer. The 5K race held each fall in downtown Knoxville benefits Thompson Cancer Survival Center.

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon Kids Run program will award a total of $4,000 to 10 area elementary schools through the 2015 Fittest School Challenge.

East Tennessee children will kick off the Covenant Kids Run with a one-mile event at the Knoxville Zoo in January and end it on the 50-yard line at Neyland Stadium in March.
