A national celebration that generates interest in nuclear science will be held throughout the country Oct. 19-23.

Today, 87 South College student pharmacists received their white coats marking the beginning of clinical rotations in the community. As they took this educational step towards their professional careers, speakers focused on the future of the industry.

Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) and Western Heights Boys & Girls Club connected residents of Western Heights and Mechanicsville with community resources in a festival atmosphere Oct. 12.

The Tennessee Theatre will host a free day of cartoons, costumes and tours on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In two weeks, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will continue its Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series with Maestro Marcelo Lehninger, KSO Music Director Candidate, as he conducts the Orchestra in Respighi’s Pines of Rome. The concert will take place on Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. These performances are sponsored by UT Federal Credit Union and Harper Auto Square.

There is only one event where you can meet Pocahontas, an *NSYNC member and the voice of Disney’s Goofy all in one day – the Fanboy Expo Knoxville.

Members of the KSO will perform Gabriel Lefkowitz & Friends, kicking off the KSO Merchant & Gould Concertmaster Series. This concert will take place on Wednesday, October 14 and Friday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Knoxville Museum of Art. These performances are sponsored by American Piano Gallery and the Knoxville Museum of Art.

In just three days, “Pilot Celebrity Pumpers” raised a record-breaking $90,400 for the United Way of Greater Knoxville, which surpassed the previous record by $1,000. The record was $89,400 set in 2014. Over two decades, the special event has raised more than $1.1 million dollars for the United Way. Pilot Celebrity Pumpers continues to be the charity’s single-largest special event fundraiser, helping United Way assist those most in need in our community.

The North Greene High School football team will don pink jerseys for the home game against Hampton on Oct. 23 as part of a statewide initiative for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
