The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra kicks off a brand new FREE recital series THIS THURSDAY with the Woodwind Quintet. The Q Series consists of THREE FREE RECITALS beginning Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Clayton Performing Arts Center at the Pellissippi State Community College Hardin Valley Campus. This performance is free to attend; no tickets are required.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series presents “ALL MOZART WITH LARA ST. JOHN” on November 14-15. Maestro Lucas Richman conducts the Orchestra joined by world-renowned violinist Lara St. John. The concert will take place on Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. These performances are sponsored by Circle of Friends.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series presents “AN AMERICAN IN PARIS” on October 17-18. Maestro Lucas Richman conducts the Orchestra joined by guest pianist Jeffrey Biegel. The concert will take place on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. Maestro Lucas Richman, Music Director of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra has announced that he will conclude his tenure with the KSO following the 2014-2015 season. While the Maestro’s current contract has him at the helm through the end of the 2013-14 season, he has agreed to continue on with the organization for one additional season, extending his leadership through the 2014-15 season-his 12th with the orchestra.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra kicks off the Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series and the 2013-14 season with “Eroica Trio Plays Beethoven” on September 19 & 20. Maestro Lucas Richman conducts the Orchestra, joined by guest artists the Eroica Trio. The concert will take place on Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. These performances are sponsored by Twin City Dealerships.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra announces a $1 million gift from the Aslan Foundation to support three initiatives over the next five years. The gift will support the Chamber Classics Series, allow for subsidized ticket pricing to classical concerts and progress five part-time KSO woodwind musicians to full-time, making the Woodwind Quintet part of our core orchestra. These initiatives will take effect immediately.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (KSO) has concluded its 2012-13 fiscal year with a balanced budget. This is the seventh consecutive year the organization has ended its fiscal year with a positive result.

The Knoxville Symphony League Show House is bigger than ever this year, featuring more than 10,000 square feet of design ideas by two dozen of the area’s leading designers. The Show House will be open April 26-May 12, Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra invites iconic trumpeter and former Tonight Show band leader Doc Severinsen to perform “Italian Style” with the orchestra for the Knoxville News Sentinel Pops Series.
