The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Merchant & Gould Concertmaster Series continues with its next installment of “Gabriel Lefkowitz & Friends” in two weeks with music of Prokofiev, Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky. The concert will take place on Wednesday, January 14 and Thursday, January 15 at 7 p.m. at the Knoxville Museum of Art. Tickets are just $20 in advance or at the door.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II, part of the Knoxville News Sentinel Pops Series. The concert featuring beloved Looney Tunes characters will take place on Saturday, January 17 at 8 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium and is sponsored by Twin City Dealerships.

The Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra Association (KSYOA) will open its 41st season with a FREE Fall Concert on Monday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre.

The KSO kicked off the Library Story Time Program this week, in partnership with the Knox County Public Library. Each year, the KSO brings professional musicians to area libraries for a free 45-minute program involving live music, storytelling and children’s books, making the stories “come alive.” This program is directed to children ages pre-K through 2nd grade and is free of charge.

In just two weeks, Maestro Lucas Richman will conduct the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in An Alpine Symphony, part of the Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series. This concert will take place on Thursday, November 13 and Friday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. These performances are sponsored by Circle of Friends. Tickets start at $15. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform for more than 8,300 elementary students as part of its annual series of five Young People’s Concerts on October 29-31 at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium. “Are We There Yet?” is an educational program designed for students in 3rd through 5th grades. The Sheena McCall Young People’s Concerts are October 29-30 at 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and October 31 at 9:30 a.m.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will soon welcome guest conductor Sameer Patel to conduct the Orchestra in Symphonie Fantastique, part of the Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series. The concert will take place on Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. These performances are sponsored by The Trust Company. Tickets start at $15.

The KSO will perform the Sounds of Simon & Garfunkel on Friday, October 3 at 8:00 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre. Tickets range from $20 – $62.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra opens its 2014-2015 Chamber Classics Series in two weeks. Maestro James Fellenbaum conducts the Chamber Orchestra, joined by cellist Wesley Baldwin. This concert will take place on Sunday, September 24 at 2:30 PM at the Bijou Theatre.

In just four weeks, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 79th season with Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1. Maestro Lucas Richman conducts the Orchestra, joined by guest artist Jon Kimura Parker for a spectacular season opener.
