Update Your User Profile Email

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you start this process:

1. Login to Your Clients Wordpress Dashboard

  1. Open your web browser and go to your WordPress login page (website.com/wp-admin)
For users with the role of Administrator:

2. Navigate to Your Profile

  1. Once logged in, look at the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Select Users.
  3. Find your profile and select Edit. 

For users with the role of Editor, Author, Contributor or Subscriber:

  • This tab is inaccessible to users with the role of Editor, Author, or Subscriber.
  • Due to this, QR codes will have to be individually sent to them to initiate this process and we are happy to carry this out on your behalf.

We will coordinate an activation date with you so you can communicate with the necessary members of your team.

For users with the role of Administrator:

3. Update Your Email Address

  1. Scroll down until you find the Contact Info section.
  2. Look for the field labeled Email.
  3. Delete the existing email address (@moxleycarmichael.com) and enter your new email address (@moxcar.com).

For users with the role of Editor, Author, Contributor or Subscriber:

  • This tab is inaccessible to users with the role of Editor, Author, or Subscriber.
  • Due to this, QR codes will have to be individually sent to them to initiate this process and we are happy to carry this out on your behalf.

For users with the role of Administrator:

4. Save Your Changes

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  2. Click the Update Profile button.

For users with the role of Editor, Author, Contributor or Subscriber:

  • This tab is inaccessible to users with the role of Editor, Author, or Subscriber.
  • Due to this, QR codes will have to be individually sent to them to initiate this process and we are happy to carry this out on your behalf.

For users with the role of Administrator:

5. Verify Your New Email Address

  1. WordPress will send a confirmation email to the new email address you entered.
  2. Check your inbox for an email from WordPress.
  3. Open the email and click the confirmation link to verify the new email address.

For users with the role of Editor, Author, Contributor or Subscriber:

  • This tab is inaccessible to users with the role of Editor, Author, or Subscriber.
  • Due to this, QR codes will have to be individually sent to them to initiate this process and we are happy to carry this out on your behalf.

For users with the role of Administrator:

5. Activate 2FA

  1. Follow the instructions here to activate 2FA on your new profile.

For users with the role of Editor, Author, Contributor or Subscriber:

  • This tab is inaccessible to users with the role of Editor, Author, or Subscriber.
