As Halloween nears, the Downtown Knoxville Alliance is calling on residents and visitors to enter the Wicked Cool costume photo contest before the clock strikes midnight on Oct. 31. There is still time to show off your Halloween spirit and win gift cards from local businesses!
Contestants can compete in eight categories: Best Couple, Cutest, Best Family, Best Group (Themed), Best Hollywood/Broadway, Best Kid(s), Best Pet and Scariest. To enter, capture a photo in your costume with Downtown Knoxville as the backdrop – suggested photo spots are marked throughout the city center.
Then, submit your entry at downtownknoxville.org/wicked/costume-contest or share it on social media using #KnoxHalloween.
“Last year’s contestants impressed us with their spooky style, and we’re excited to see even more creativity this time around,” said Michele Hummel, executive director of the Downtown Knoxville Alliance. “Whether you’re dressing up solo, with family, friends or even your pet, we encourage everyone to join in, snap a photo and enter for a chance to win! While you’re here, enjoy all the Halloween happenings and support our local businesses.”
Winners will be revealed on Downtown Knoxville Alliance’s social media accounts by Nov. 6.
Other Wicked Cool experiences continue through Oct. 31, including:
- Wicked Cool Cats Scavenger Hunt: Cross paths with black cats hidden in downtown business windows and scan the QR codes for a chance to win gift cards totaling more than $500. Clues are available at downtownknoxville.org/wicked/coolcats, and winners will be announced the week of Nov. 4.
- Festive Fun for Everyone: Creep along Knoxville’s scariest bar crawl or enjoy family-friendly frights. See the full lineup at downtownknoxville.org/wicked/events.
- Spooky Strolls and Photo Ops: See the spirits in Ghoulish Grove, meet the Krutch Park Creature and capture magic moments at other Halloween-themed displays across downtown. Share your photos with #KnoxHalloween and tag @downtownknox for a chance to win additional prizes.
- Spellbinding Sips, Snacks and Shopping: Sink your fangs into themed treats and bubbling brews at downtown bars and restaurants, and shop at local “boo-tiques” for all fall décor and gifts.
