UScellular announces it has named Tom Catani as Area Vice President/General Manager (AVP/GM) for its Mid-Atlantic Region. This is a new role for the company to lead both corporate-owned and agent retail locations in Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Catani joined UScellular in 1997 and has held multiple positions in sales and customer service, and most recently served as vice president of sales for the agent channel. In that position, he enabled business results for UScellular within its indirect sales channel and ensured associates had the proper support to help customers make informed decisions about their wireless service. Prior to joining UScellular, Catani served for 15 years with AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Catani has a master’s degree in business administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois in Champaign. He resides in Knoxville, Tennessee, with his wife and family.
“Tom has extensive experience leading teams and driving customer growth in the fast-paced wireless industry, and he is a great fit for this role as the company remains committed to staying connected to our customers in the communities we serve,” said Eric Jagher, senior vice president, retail sales and operations at UScellular. “I am excited for Tom to help us achieve our long-term goals while delivering an unmatched wireless experience.”
The new role of AVP/GM allows UScellular to tailor its support and offerings to the needs of individual communities while managing its overall business, driving an exceptional customer experience and moving faster in a competitive wireless industry.
