United Way of Greater Knoxville launches 2025 ‘Voliday Guide’

Nov. 25, 2025

United Way of Greater Knoxville (UWGK) is making it easier to give back this holiday season with the launch of its 2025 “Voliday Guide,” a one-stop resource for volunteer opportunities and giving options that support local nonprofits this holiday season.

“This season encourages reflection and compassion,” said UWGK CEO Chrystal Armstrong Brown. “Our communities are stronger when people come together to share their time and talent to support others, and we hope our Voliday Guide offers a simple way to do that – helping families and individuals who have a heart to serve find an opportunity that matches their passions, schedule or resources.”

Needs across our community remain high, and nonprofits that serve local families are facing increased demand while navigating significant funding shifts. Both support from volunteers and donations of essential supplies help these organizations keep pace during one of their busiest seasons.

The Voliday Guide features opportunities posted on Volunteer East Tennessee, including delivering meals to homebound seniors, wrapping gifts, helping agencies host holiday celebrations, distributing Angel Tree gifts and more.

A special section highlights urgent needs and wish lists submitted by local partners. These options are ideal for individuals, families, workplaces or faith groups interested in donating needed supplies or hosting a drive for a specific organization. For teams or groups looking to give back together, a meaningful alternative to a standard office holiday party is to host a Voliday Party, an on-site kit-packing project. The guide includes information to plan these activities.

“No matter why you volunteer, whether it is part of your holiday tradition, for school or with your coworkers, you get something valuable in return. Volunteering connects us and reminds us of the true spirit of the season,” added Armstrong Brown.

The guide is available at uwgk.org/voliday-guide.
