High-concept store shows commitment to Knoxville, provides
unique customer experience
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE (JUNE 18, 2014) – U.S. Cellular celebrated the grand opening of a digital store in West Knoxville’s Turkey Creek with a ribbon-cutting on June 17 with the Farragut-West Knox Chamber of Commerce. The new store, a nearly half-million dollar investment, is the latest initiative by U.S. Cellular as part of its commitment to East Tennessee.
U.S. Cellular associates, chamber representatives and community members gathered at the store, located at 11001 Parkside Drive, to celebrate its opening.
“At U.S. Cellular, we have been proud members of the East Tennessee community for nearly 30 years, and we want to provide the world’s best wireless experience for our customers here,” said Jack Brundige, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Tennessee. “We are committed to investing in the areas where our customers work, live and play, so we’ve moved our Turkey Creek store just down the road to provide Knoxville customers and shoppers with a large, high-concept store featuring more convenient access and better parking.”
In 2013, U.S. Cellular invested a total of $72.6 million throughout East Tennessee in network enhancements, store upgrades and the Calling All Communities program, which supports local schools. This year, U.S. Cellular continues its commitment to the region with the $480,000 investment in the new Turkey Creek store, which will continue to employ eight associates.
U.S. Cellular employs more than 850 associates across East Tennessee. The company also will continue to support the community this summer and fall through a variety of volunteer activities and local event sponsorships, including serving as the presenting sponsor of the Knox County School Coupon Book program and the Knoxville Zoo’s “BOO! at the Zoo.”
The highly experiential store has a 2,684-square-foot showroom and features five phone bars to give customers hands-on access to the latest devices and accessories. It has a lounge area for customers and U.S. Cellular associates to engage in a more comfortable shopping experience. Customers will be guided through the advanced features and functions on their new devices that will keep them organized and enhance their lives.
U.S. Cellular keeps customers connected with devices for a variety of needs, from 4G LTE smartphones, tablets and hotspots to vehicle monitoring and home phone and Internet solutions. At the new Turkey Creek store, customers can test this lineup of devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S 5 and a variety of Apple products. Knoxville-area customers also enjoy fast web browsing and quick app downloads with access to 4G LTE speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G.
The store also will host a “Business Before Hours” networking event with the Farragut-West Knox Chamber at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 17.
The store is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday; and noon-5 p.m., Sunday. For more information, contact the store at 865-777-1100 and select option 2.
