South College Pittsburgh hosted more than 50 students from Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School to offer a hands-on introduction to various healthcare fields and inspire interest in pursuing a higher education degree.

The high school students toured the modern labs on campus and participated in interactive activities exploring programs including Nursing, Surgical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Radiography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
“We always welcome the opportunity to showcase our campus and sit down with the next generation of students to explain all the different professional paths we offer,” South College Pittsburgh President Anne Petrella said. “It’s valuable for students to experience what college instruction looks like and how a college degree can open new doors for them.”
The students were on campus from 8:30 a.m. until about 1:30 p.m., with refreshments included, to allow time to rotate through program stations for hands-on experiences and then meet with financial aid and admissions representatives.

Located in Pittsburgh’s North Hills community in Cranberry Township, the South College campus offers a variety of healthcare programs, including Nursing, Health Science, Imaging Science, Respiratory Therapy and Surgical Technology.
