South College Nashville celebrated recent nursing program graduate Beck Dowdy-Wright, the recipient of HCA Healthcare’s inaugural Flower Bud Nursing Student Award, which honors commitment to compassion, empathy and professionalism during the clinical experience. Dowdy-Wright was presented the award on April 17 at the Nashville campus.
HCA Healthcare, one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare services, established the new Flower Bud Nursing Student Award. Candidates are nominated each quarter by members of the HCA Healthcare nursing staff based on the quality of care the student provides to patients embodying those core values. The prestigious Flower Bud awards are bestowed by healthcare organizations across the country.
“Beck was an exceptional student, and we are excited to celebrate this well-earned recognition,” South College Nashville Assistant Dean of Nursing Holly Garland said. “We hold the nursing profession sacred because of the tremendous impact nurses have for patients at their most vulnerable; it’s gratifying to see our students taking that to heart.”
Dowdy-Wright graduated April 4 as part of South College Nashville’s Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) hybrid cohort.
South College Nashville opened in 2017.
