South College Atlanta hosted a career fair Oct. 28 for its pending graduates and students in allied health and nursing programs with multiple companies in healthcare fields.

“There is growing demand for healthcare professionals in the Atlanta area, and we want to help connect our students with local and regional partners,” South College Atlanta President Josh Huffaker said. “This career fair allows our students to identify potential employers before graduation, many of which offer early engagement opportunities for transitioning.”
Approximately 25 local employers participated in the career fair, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Concentra, Emory University Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, Northeast Georgia Health System, Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and the Shepherd Center.

The event featured on-site interviews, networking opportunities and tours showcasing the Atlanta campus’ modern classrooms and laboratories.
South College Atlanta offers a variety of healthcare programs, including Bachelor of Science in Nursing and healthcare-centric Associate of Science programs in Surgical Technology, Nursing, Health Science (Pre-Nursing), Radiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Respiratory Therapy, along with a number of certificate programs.
“We work to develop and grow local partnerships to assist students as they prepare to enter the workforce and help meet local demand for healthcare professionals,” Huffaker said.
