Jun. 20, 2025

South College Atlanta held its commencement ceremony June 20 to celebrate hundreds of graduates, including the first cohort of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students.

The ceremony took place at Georgia State Convocation Center in Atlanta and included remarks from guest speaker Inky Johnson. Approximately 422 students, including 70 graduates of the DPT program, crossed the stage to mark successful completion of a variety of programs.

“We congratulate all of our students for their perseverance and commitment to advancing their education,” said Josh Huffaker, president of the South College Atlanta campus. “We also recognize our inaugural graduating class in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program for an outstanding achievement. We wish all of our graduates continued success in their fields.”

Inky Johnson, former Tennessee Vols football player and public speaker.

Johnson, a former Tennessee Vols football player, suffered a career-ending injury in 2006 that paralyzed his right arm and hand. He became an in-demand motivational speaker and has helped thousands of people turn adversity into powerful outcomes in all walks of life.

Faculty, supporters and loved ones attended the ceremony to cheer on graduates. The event was also livestreamed from the South College YouTube channel.

The Atlanta campus, which opened in 2018, is located at 2600 Century Parkway NE and offers a wide variety of programs from certificates to doctorates, including career paths in healthcare, education, business, legal studies and technology.
