Jun. 19, 2026

South College Asheville held its commencement ceremony June 19 to celebrate nearly 200 graduates.

South College Asheville holds commencement June 19, 2026, at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts in Asheville to celebrate 184 graduates.

The ceremony took place at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts and included remarks from Victoria Dunkle, a well-known former news anchor in Asheville who is now the communications director for AdventHealth.

Dunkle continues to make television appearances as the face of AdventHealth and has held community listening sessions in Buncombe, Graham, Madison and Yancey counties to gather input and share updates on the proposed expansion of hospital services in the region. AdventHealth is a vital clinical partner for South College Asheville and allows students to undergo hands-on instruction and learning before graduation.

Approximately 184 students graduated with family and friends present to celebrate their accomplishments.

“We always look forward to graduation day to honor our graduates for their commitment to education,” South College Asheville President Dr. Samantha Sircey said. “It’s an indication of their dedication and the work of our professors and staff to help students succeed. Our graduates are welcome to come back to our campus any time to pursue additional educational programs or just to visit. Our door is always open.”

The current Asheville campus, which opened in 2012, is located at 140 Sweeten Creek Road in a city anchored by the mountains of Western North Carolina. The institution offers a variety of programs and concentrations in business, healthcare, legal studies, technology and more.
