Alexander C. “Andy” Shafer, president of Shafer Insurance Agency, was recently elected to the Home Federal Bank board of directors.
An active community volunteer, Shafer serves on the boards of several area nonprofits, including Helen Ross McNabb Foundation, Salvation Army, and Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service (SCHAS). He also is a board member and previous president of the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville.

The following people were also reelected to the bank’s board of directors:
- Mack A. Gentry, an attorney with Gentry, Tipton & McLemore.
- James M. Hart, president, Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
- John W. Lacey, III, M.D., senior vice president and chief medical officer, UT Medical Center.
- Avice Reed, executive director, Knoxville Police Advisory & Review Committee.
All members will serve three-year terms.
