Salsarita’s, the Fresh Mexican Cantina with locations across the country, is celebrating the grand opening of its eighth Knoxville location at Cedar Bluff and Kingston Pike in front of Academy Sports. This fiesta will include burrito and hot salsa eating contests along with giveaways to the first 100 people. One of the first 100 will win Free Salsarita’s for a Year. Doors open at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15.

“This community has a real connection to the authentically Mexican-inspired flavors and warm, inviting atmosphere of Salsarita’s,” said Salsarita’s East Tennessee franchise owner H.P. Patel. “We’ve received great support from the Knoxville area and are excited to open our eighth location to meet the growing demand for the fresh cuisine and convenience of Salsarita’s.”

At 10:30 on May 15, President of the Farragut/West Knox Chamber of Commerce, Bettye Sisco will help dedicate the restaurant by rolling a large burrito with select special guests.

The restaurant will officially open to the public at 11 a.m., and the first 100 guests will receive a Cantina Club Card with pre-loaded amounts that range from $10 to $500. One of these lucky guests will win free Salsarita’s for a year.

At 2 p.m., Salsarita’s will host hot salsa and burrito eating contests open to any and all guests who wish to participate. No registration is required. Participants will be challenged to eat four ounces of Salsarita’s Tres Fuegos Hot Salsa and a separate contest will measure how fast participants can eat a large Salsarita’s burrito. Winners from both contests will receive free Salsarita’s chips and salsa for a year.

At the grand opening, Salsarita’s will also unveil its fresh Signature Margarita and Sol Lemonade. Salsarita’s Margaritas will be available exclusively at the Cedar Bluff location in addition to its beer offerings, and soon, other Knoxville Salsarita’s locations will offer Sol Lemonade and Margaritas.

“Salsarita’s prides itself on being a part of each community where it locates,” said Patel. “We hope our neighbors and local residents will join us for a fiesta to celebrate our new location. We’re excited to join the Cedar Bluffs neighborhood.”

Salsarita’s offers customized catering for events of any size, and throughout the month of May in preparation for the Cedar Bluff grand opening, Salsarita’s has been holding “Pop Up Cantina” events, where associates have entered Cedar Bluff area businesses and organizations to cater surprise lunches for their employees. Salsarita’s employees have also delivered freshly-made tortilla chips and salsa to other local businesses, organizations, apartment complexes and other area locations.

Salsarita’s has plans to open two more locations in the Knoxville area and expand to four additional locations in Chattanooga in the next few years.
