KenTuggle350Rural/Metro Fire Department is proud to announce the promotion of Ken Tuggle to battalion chief in Knox County.

“Ken’s leadership skills and dedication to the highest level of fire protection service will serve Knox County’s fire operations well as he moves into his new role,” Rural/Metro Fire Chief Gene Blaylock said. “I have full confidence that Ken will lead our firefighters admirably as battalion chief to protect the health and property of Knox County residents.”

Tuggle began working for Rural/Metro Fire Department in 1998 as a reserve and was hired as a full-time firefighter in 2000. He rose through the ranks with promotions to lieutenant and then captain. He has worked at multiple stations in Knox County, most recently at Rural/Metro Fire Station 41 on Campbell Station Road.

“As a firefighter and leader, I enjoy the challenge of problem solving,” Tuggle said. “I try to make progress and move our department forward every day I am at work.”
Tuggle resides in Farragut with his wife, Debi, and two daughters, Kelsie and Katie. His hobbies include camping and coaching his daughters’ softball team.
