Pilot Flying J team members give back for National Volunteer Week

Pilot Flying J team members at the company’s Knoxville headquarters partnered with 15 local organizations to give back during National Volunteer Week, providing 1,476 hours of volunteer assistance.

The company had 408 volunteers donating time at 15 area nonprofits during National Volunteer Week, which was observed April 7-13. Pilot Flying J volunteers helped Children’s Center of Knoxville, Emerald Youth Foundation, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley, Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, Sertoma Center, Young-Williams Animal Center, Zoo Knoxville and seven other local organizations with projects that included landscaping, general cleanup, playtime with adoptable animals and food warehouse assistance.

In total, 408 team members participated in the community outreach initiative April 11-12. National Volunteer Week, which was held nationwide April 7-13, celebrates the impact of volunteer service to build stronger communities.
