PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. – Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen has begun hiring the team of professionals that will make Southern hospitality a staple at the celebrity chef’s restaurant at The Island in Pigeon Forge.

Management of the new eatery plans to fill more than 200 positions, including line cooks, prep cooks, bakers, dishwashers, bussers, bartenders, servers, hosts and retail sales associates.  The restaurant is slated to open in late April.

“We are excited to have Paula Deen’s new restaurant concept join the already great things happening at The Island,” Bob McManus, developer of The Island at Pigeon Forge, said. “The economic impact that the restaurant will bring to Sevier County and East Tennessee is tremendous, and we look forward to supporting the restaurant in its efforts to hire local employees.”

The restaurant’s tiered seating will provide each guest a unique view of The Island’s Show Fountains and also the Great Smoky Mountains. Customers will enjoy classic Deen family recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a traditional family-style atmosphere. The complex will also include a 4,000-square-foot Paula Deen Retail Store.

Compensation for the various hourly positions will be dependent on experience and skill.
