KOC Maryville Jamboree to offer preview of Blount County football

Jul. 25, 2026

Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic (KOC) will continue its support for the annual KOC Maryville Jamboree showcasing Blount County high school teams and matchups before the official football season begins. The orthopaedic provider has been sponsoring the event for more than 35 years in its role as the community’s sports medicine leader.

KOC sports medicine surgeon Kyle Boden attends to a student-athlete at the 2025 KOC Maryville Jamboree.

The KOC Maryville Jamboree takes place on Friday, Aug. 14, at Alcoa High School with games and skills competitions beginning at 7 p.m. Participating high schools include Alcoa, Heritage, Maryville and William Blount.

“It’s exciting to see these early competitions featuring athletes we know from training rooms and practices,” said Dr. Kyle Boden, sports medicine surgeon at KOC. “The KOC Maryville Jamboree is also a great opportunity to encourage proper form, injury prevention and overall wellness while celebrating the start of football season in Blount County.”

The four teams will compete in two matchups. Alcoa will face William Blount in the opener, followed by a skills competition to determine the fastest running back and lineman, longest throw, longest punt and deepest kickoff. Maryville and Heritage will go head-to-head in the evening’s final contest.

The event offers a preview of Blount County teams and talent ahead of the Alcoa-Maryville rivalry game at Maryville High School the following Friday, August 21.

KOC Maryville is located at 827 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, and offers walk-in orthopaedic urgent care Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

KOC Alcoa will open in the Springbrook Farm development early next year. The new location, conveniently located off Alcoa Highway, will provide even greater access to specialized orthopaedic care for Blount County families.
