Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic has added orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Kyle Boden to its team of specialists treating patients in Maryville.
Boden, a sports medicine specialist, is now caring for patients at the same orthopaedic practice where he was treated when he was a competitive three-sport athlete in high school.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Boden on our team,” said Pete Pearson, CEO of Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic. “As a high school athlete and starting quarterback in college, Dr. Boden understands how to care for athletes with competence and compassion, and we’re grateful he’s returned home to East Tennessee. We know he’ll help us to improve lives in Maryville and Blount County.”
Dr. Boden has already made an impact as the team physician for Alcoa High School football and helped celebrate with the Tornadoes as they achieved their 10th consecutive 3A state championship.

A Knoxville native, Boden earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Emory & Henry University, where he played on the football team as a starting quarterback. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. Boden completed his residency at the University of Kentucky and was named an orthopaedic surgery sports medicine fellow at Case Western University/University Hospitals.
“I enjoy the challenge of identifying a treatment approach that allows patients in all walks of life to return to the activities they enjoy,” Dr. Boden said.
Dr. Boden and his wife Alyson, a local nurse, enjoy participating in community outreach efforts through their church and work. His hobbies include fishing, golfing, hiking and exercising – especially strength training and running.
