Gallaher opened the original Knox Mason with business partner David Rudder in early 2013 on Gay Street’s 100 Block and quickly earned a following for its seasonal, Southern menu offerings; craft cocktails; and support of local farms and artisans. The successful restaurant closed in late 2018 with a plan to reopen inside the new Embassy Suites by Hilton Knoxville Downtown, also opening soon at 507 S. Gay St.

Gallaher also is the chef/owner of Emilia, an Italian restaurant. Previously, he rose to the rank of sous chef at the internationally acclaimed Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, and served as a private chef to celebrities ranging from musicians to former Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.
