Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians is gearing up for a summer of fun, empowerment and adventure through a variety of Girl Scout Summer Camp experiences across the region.

Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians is gearing up for a summer of fun, empowerment and adventure through a variety of Girl Scout Summer Camp experiences across the region.

This year brings an exciting new addition: a day camp at Camp Kiwanis in the Knoxville area, offering local families a convenient way to introduce campers to outdoor adventures close to home. During this high-fantasy themed camp, rising first- through eighth-grade girls will have the opportunity to create their own fantastical characters, complete fun quests and enjoy a magical week at camp.

“These camp experiences are more than just summer fun; they help girls find belonging and build confidence and independence,” said Lynne Fugate, CEO of the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians (GSCSA). “Summer camp offers the opportunity for Girl Scouts to try out a variety of different activities and forge lifelong friendships.”

From outdoor fun to skill-building specialties, this year’s Girl Scout camps feature something for every interest and experience level, from Daisies to Seniors and Ambassadors. Camp favorites returning this year include:

  • Secret Agent Camp – Girls can crack codes and solve mysteries by looking for clues and using their observation skills.

  • Camp Chef – Food lovers will spend time in the camp kitchen and explore cooking outdoors as they learn chef skills and experiment with new recipes.

  • Wilderness Camp – This is a perfect fit for nature lovers who want to learn how to thrive in the great outdoors, with survival skills training, backcountry hiking and more.

  • Artist Adventure – Campers can choose their favorite artistic focus for the week including visual arts, acting or creative writing.

  • Mythology – This week of adventure and imagination allows campers to dive into the world of Greek mythology. Girls can train like a demi-god and become a summer camp hero.

  • Camper Sampler – Girls will have a chance to explore a mix of activities, from crafts and games to STEM and nature, helping them discover their favorite camp style.
  • Horse Camp – This camp for horse lovers offers visits to a horse rescue and sanctuary for girls to ride and learn all about horses.

  • Tanasi Day Camp – This day camp delivers all the fun of summer camp without the overnight stay, featuring badge work, crafts, swimming, lakefront activities and more.

Camps also will be held to compete for Ultimate Scouts and an opportunity for adult females to join their Girl Scout at Me and Mine Camp.

From outdoor fun to skill-building specialties, this year’s Girl Scout camps feature something for every interest and experience level, from Daisies to Seniors and Ambassadors.

Girl Scout summer camps are open to current members, and non-members with an additional fee. Alternatively, campers can join when registering. Sessions begin June 8 and run through July 25, with both day and overnight options available. Camps are available for every level from Daisies and rising first-graders through 10th grade, as well as Counselor-In-Training opportunities for high schoolers.

Registration for all camps is now open at girlscoutcsa.org/summercamp. The deadline to sign up closes two weeks prior to each camp. Scan the QR code below for more information:
