Last year, more than 25,000 Knoxvillians journeyed back in time 65 million years to when dinosaurs ruled the earth. The Knoxville Convention Center is once again inviting families, young people and adults to “Discover the Dinosaurs” Friday through Sunday, March 22-24.

“Discover the Dinosaurs” is an interactive family attraction featuring more than 60 museum-quality and animatronic dinosaur replicas.

“Last year, we had more than 25,000 people come to our exhibit,” said convention center General Manager Mary Bogert. “This event was so amazingly popular that we knew we had to make it even bigger and better this year. In response to last year’s popularity, we’ve expanded the exhibit into our largest exhibit hall and created an all-inclusive ticket for our guests’ convenience.”

“Discover the Dinosaurs”, produced by Blue Star Productions, is designed to provide kids and adults with a unique and educational way to explore the mystery of pre-historic life. The hands-on exhibit allows visitors to get up close and even touch these pre-historic replicas.

“This is a fabulous adventure for the whole family,” said Bogert. “There are a lot of hands-on attractions and moving dinosaurs, and even T-Rex and Triceratops rides. It’s never been more fun to learn about dinosaurs!”

The exhibit is open Friday from noon until 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or online at http://www.discoverthedinosaurs.com.

“Discover the Dinosaurs” offers two convenient pricing options. Exhibit-only admission is $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and $12 for children age 2-12. Ticket price includes access to the 60 museum-quality replicas, plus attractions such as a Dino Dig, Dino Theater, Dino Den play area, Dino Coloring and a scavenger hunt.

An all-inclusive Exhibit Plus ticket for $20 is a new option this year and in addition to the exhibit activities, earns admission to Triceratops and T-Rex rides, inflatables, and mini-golf.
