Positively Living & Choice Health Network CEO Steve Jenkins has earned a 2022 Health Care Heroes award from Knox.biz in the public health advocacy category.
“It’s such an honor to receive this award, but it was not achieved alone,” Jenkins said. “Along with a great team and partners, we work each day to serve Tennessee’s most vulnerable individuals and families affected by HIV, mental illness, substance use, houselessness and LGBTQ+ discrimination. We celebrate the recognition this award brings to the organization and the work that we’re doing.”
Each year, Knox.biz recognizes outstanding medical professionals, leaders and health advocates through the Health Care Heroes awards. The recipients across multiple categories will be profiled in the September issue of Knox.biz magazine.
In more than 15 years serving as CEO of Positively Living & Choice Heath Network, Jenkins has overseen growth of the public health nonprofit to serve more than 6,000 individuals and families across the state. The organization has expanded from offering supportive housing programs for men with HIV to filling the void for health care providers that cater to the specialized needs of HIV-positive patients.
Under Jenkins’ leadership, the organization has grown from five to nearly 50 employees and from one to four locations in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Memphis and Upper Cumberland.
