Asbury Place continuing care retirement communities has named Knoxville native Rusty Parrish-Turner corporate director of human resources.

Parrish-Turner comes to Asbury Place with 20 years of human resources experience with both the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credentials. He most recently served as director of human resources for Wyndemere Senior Living in Wheaton, Illinois, a continuing care retirement community supporting 450 residents and 380 employees.

In his role at Asbury Place, Parrish-Turner will serve the Kingsport and Maryville campuses, with more than 550 employees.

“Rusty’s broad human resources experience, particularly his service for other nonprofit organizations and continuing care retirement communities, makes him a perfect fit for Asbury Place,” said Marjorie Shonnard, chief operating officer for Asbury Inc. “His background in ministry is an added bonus, as Asbury Place was founded in 1956 by Holston Conference of the Methodist Church and continues to focus on meeting residents’ physical, intellectual, spiritual and social needs.”

Parrish-Turner grew up in Knoxville and earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Tennessee. He also received a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and an MBA in human resources management from Auburn University.

Parrish-Turner has been married to husband Keith for 13 years. Having just relocated from Chicago to East Tennessee, they are currently seeking a place to permanently call home.
