Alcoa High School has one more week to try to win $25,000 through U.S. Cellular’s “Battle of the Stands” competition. From Nov. 6 through Nov. 12, fans of Alcoa can visit www.aseasonoftradition.com to get a second chance to enter their “digital cheer” to battle seven other schools in the competition. With only eight schools competing, the race remains wide open, and as of Nov. 6, Alcoa is in eighth place, so fans need a fourth quarter comeback.

“We have seen some of the big swings on the leaderboard come from the digital cheers that fans have generated online at the website,” said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Tennessee. “For U.S. Cellular, this football season has been all about celebrating the fans of high school sports in our local communities, and we encourage everyone to visit the site to support their school. We are eager to see which school will come out on top.”

During this high school football season, U.S. Cellular has challenged eight schools in its “Battle of the Stands” competition to see which school has the loudest fans, with the winner taking home $25,000 at the end of the season. The company measured the crowd cheers at designated games, and fans of the schools also were able to add their own “digital cheer” online the week after their game.

To date, Alcoa has generated nearly 700 total decibels from the Sept. 25 home game against crosstown rival Heritage High School and on www.aseasonoftradition.com.

Alcoa High School is competing against seven other high schools in Illinois, Iowa, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon and Wisconsin.

No purchase, U.S. Cellular account or mobile device necessary to enter or win. Making a purchase, having a U.S. Cellular account or using a mobile device to enter will not increase the chances of a particular school winning the prize. Official rules for “Battle of the Stands” may is at http://www.aseasonoftradition.com/www/fandomrules.html.
