South College Pittsburgh hosted a career fair on April 28 for its healthcare students and pending graduates including more than 30 employers in healthcare fields.
“Pittsburgh is an important hub in the healthcare industry, and we want to connect our students with clinical partners and opportunities that fit their professional pursuits,” South College Pittsburgh President Dr. Anne Petrella said. “We work with students ahead of time on resume preparation, elevator pitches, dressing to impress and professional headshots to help them put their best foot forward.”
More than 30 regional employers participated in the career fair, including Allegheny Health Network, Concordia Visiting Nurses, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley, Heritage Valley Health System, Independence Health System, Interim HealthCare, Liken Home Care, Maxim Healthcare, OneWell Health Care, PAM Health, Penn Highlands Healthcare, St. Barnabas Health System, St. Clair Health, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Western PA Surgery Center.
“We have developed partnerships to not only support our graduates, but to also connect local employers with skilled healthcare professionals,” Petrella said.
The event included on-site interviews, networking opportunities and tours of campus facilities including radiography, surgical technology, diagnostic medical sonography, nursing, medical assisting and simulation labs.

Located in Pittsburgh’s North Hills community in Cranberry Township, the South College campus offers a variety of healthcare programs, including Bachelor of Science in Nursing and healthcare-centric Associate of Science programs in Surgical Technology, Nursing, Health Science (Pre-Nursing), Radiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Respiratory Therapy, along with certificate programs in Practical Nursing and Sterile Processing and other related programs.
