Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon returns in 2026 on April 11-12

After another inspiring weekend on the streets of Knoxville, the countdown for the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon begins again. Registration for the 22nd annual race in 2026, happening on April 11-12, has opened.

“The success of this year’s event has energized our entire team, and with the excitement still going strong, now is the perfect time to commit to the 2026 Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon,” said Jason Altman, Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon race director. “This signature community event offers something for everyone, regardless of age, experience or ability. Set a goal, sign up now at the lowest price and we’ll see you at the finish line!”

The race weekend includes the Covenant Kids Run, 5K, four-person relay, wheelchair and handcycle races and half and full marathon.

Registration will open at runsignup.com/Race/TN/Knoxville/KnoxvilleMarathon. The cost will be $80 for the full marathon; $65, half marathon; $45, four-person relay; $30, 5K; and $20, Covenant Kids Run. An increase in entry costs will take effect at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Friday, Aug. 1.

To further motivate participants, the Fittest School and Fittest Company challenges engage schoolchildren and employees in a friendly competition to encourage active lifestyles. Course routes showcase Knoxville’s neighborhoods, greenways and downtown.

The 22nd annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon also will introduce new pricing and package bundles through the Knox Hills Challenge and Marble City Challenge. To enter the Knox Hills Challenge, sign up for both the 5K and full marathon to save with bundled pricing, at $120. To enter the Marble City Challenge, sign up for both the 5K and half marathon to save with bundled pricing, at $105.

Also headlining the weekend is Kara Goucher, an American long-distance runner, two-time Olympian and bestselling author. Goucher will speak at the Health & Fitness Expo, inspiring athletes of all ages with stories from her career.

More than 6,500 people participated in the 2025 event, completing more than 41,800 miles total. For the 22nd annual races, organizers aim to attract more participants and plan for the biggest and best event yet. In addition to the races, the 2026 Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon will offer the Goody’s Health & Fitness Expo and Pilot Travel Centers Post-Race Party.
