Consumers have more options than ever when it comes to home internet. And while that’s a great thing, it can be hard to know which option is best for a household. Fixed wireless may be the most convenient and straightforward solution to answering home internet questions.
With fixed wireless, a home or business connects wirelessly to a nearby cell tower, providing a high-speed connection via a wireless signal, as opposed to the wired connection provided by fiber or cable.
“Options for home internet often are changing and with that can come some confusion and added complication,” said Thomas White, director of sales for UScellular in East Tennessee. “With fixed wireless, households can cut down on the variables and costs associated with traditional home internet options.”
A recent UScellular survey1 found that 75% of consumers said they would consider using their wireless provider as their home internet provider, so with that in mind, here are three considerations why a household’s wireless provider might be the best option for home internet:
1. The technology is popular and growing quickly. Home internet using fixed wireless is easy for customers to set up on their own and can be a great value compared to other options. It accounted for 90% of net broadband additions in 2022 according to Leichtman Research, making it the technology that recent consumers chose nine out of 10 times for home internet service.
2. The technology is getting better. As providers continue to invest in wireless networks, consumers benefit from greater speed and capacity. Increasing access to the latest 5G technologies enables home internet products that deliver the speed and reliability a typical household needs.
3. Customers benefit from the simplicity of one bill. Customers can cut down on paperwork by subscribing to wireless and home internet service through one provider. One bill. One point of contact. One way to simplify.
Wireless provider’s home internet offerings continue to grow and provide service to reliable broadband connectivity. Learn more about UScellular’s Home Internet service and where it’s offered.
