As part of its support to organizations that offer science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programming, UScellular recently presented Maryville City Schools Foundation (MCSF) with a $5,000 donation.
The foundation, an independent, community-based organization, supports the ongoing enrichment of educational programs for all students in Maryville City Schools.
“As a technology company, we want to do our part to advance opportunities for youth in STEM education fields to help solidify a foundation for future leaders,” said Nathan Waddell, area vice president and general manager for the Mid-Atlantic. “By supporting the Maryville City Schools Foundation, the organization can continue its great work and encourage kids to explore their interests in technology fields.”
The one-time donation of $5,000 is one of five surprise gifts UScellular made to youth educational nonprofits across the country. Other organizations that received funds include:
- Oklahoma Engineering Foundation (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)
- Wapello County 4-H Foundation (Ottumwa, Iowa)
- Maine Mathematics & Science Alliance (Augusta, Maine)
- BASE Fort Atkinson (Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin)
“We would like to thank UScellular for supporting the Maryville City Schools Foundation,” said Misty Parker, executive director at MCSF. “This financial donation will play a role in our ability to support local students, teachers and administrators by funding innovative programs and projects within the school district.”
