Gerdau’s Knoxville mill has named heavy equipment operator David Moore as Employee of the Year for 2017.
Moore was recognized because of his willingness to help and commitment to his coworkers. He was nominated by fellow employees at the Knoxville mill and selected for the honor by mill administration from among those named Employee of the Month during the year.
“David is the type of employee that a company has to have to succeed – strong work ethic, genuine caring for his coworkers and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done,” said Johnny Miller, vice president and general manager of Gerdau’s Knoxville mill. “I’m proud of all 12 of our Employee of the Month winners, and I especially want to acknowledge David for this well-deserved recognition.”
During the nomination process, coworkers praised Moore as someone who is “a jack of all trades and can run any piece of heavy equipment east of the Mississippi.”
Moore resides in Halls and has been with Gerdau since 1979.
