Claude Walker Ball Park officially opened Thursday in East Knoxville after a transformation of the facilities with new fields, scoreboard, dugouts, concession stands and more. The $1.6 million philanthropic
gift, part of the community outreach connected to the new Knoxville stadium, came from GEM Community Development Group, which is overseeing private development around the stadium. The kids patiently watched the official program and then took the field to play. The community event included food trucks, drinks, free dinner, commemorative baseballs and music.
